Gorkha Tea Estate manufactures premium tea. Gorkha Tea Estate is a multi cooperative social entrepreneurship to make one of the high quality world’s finest tea. Believes in togetherness including Farmers, Factory and Market. There are 280 small growers working with us with 165.84 hectare and we pay them more than 100% of the market value.
Over the years, we’ve built long-standing relationships with our production partners, each one rooted in trust and a commitment to excellence. In fact, the our original collection is still crafted, GTE that produced the very first product.
Women Empowerment
More Power to the ladies
Urusha Chapagain, Marketing Executive of GTE has believed to employ ladies and make their identity rather than being housewives. She wants to make ladies to be known as ” Ladies tea staffs”. She has also created the feeling of “WE” in GTE which symbolizes ” Working Together” on one hand and Women Empowerment on the other. She wants to focus on women’s entrepreneurship as she believes women can also be the secret power of every business’s success. Women are recruited in GTE from Field aspects to the marketing aspects. About 20, women are employed for plucking by hand purpose every day.
Also, two tea graduates are ladies who are maintaining the quality of tea. Account section, Marketing section, cleanliness, and hygiene are also looked at by women. In total, around 30 ladies are employed who represent to be the Pride of Gorkha Tea Estate.
